Based across the Royal College of Art, University of Sheffield or Walsalls’s MindKind Projects, we are a team of multidisciplinary designers and researchers with backgrounds in service design, policy design, participatory art, community solidarity movements, human rights, design for disaster and social innovation to name but a few!

Qian Sun

Principal investigator

Dr. Qian Sun is a senior tutor in service design at the Royal College of Art. Qian’s research interest covers service design, design thinking, practice, management, and policy. Her recent focus is on the use of design in trans-disciplinary innovation that addresses contemporary societal challenges in health and wellbeing, community resilience, and sustainability.

She has a demonstrated record of producing high quality research outputs, securing research funding, establishing research partnerships in the UK and internationally, and delivering post graduate teaching for both taught and research programmes in design. She is regularly invited to examine PhDs and to review papers and proposals for conferences, journals, and funding, and is an active member of AHRC Review College.
