Nina Cutler
Royal College of Art
Design Associate
Nina Cutler is an interdisciplinary design practitioner who is interested in the use of speculative fiction, participatory and social design and planetary thinking as disruptors of the status quo that can enable the seeding of new political imaginaries. She undertook her undergraduate degree in fashion design at Edinburgh College of Art before expanding her practice through a masters in Material Futures at Central Saint Martins, London, graduating in 2018.
During the last two years, Nina worked as a policy designer at the UK government’s Policy Lab. Collaborating with policy teams across government, she explored the potential of different design practices in policy making – in particular speculative design. Nina has exhibited and given talks in London, New York, Milan, Edinburgh and Eindhoven. Her award winning project, The Quantworm Mine, is featured in the revised edition of ‘Bio Design: Nature, Science, Creativity’ by William Myers.
