Vicki joined Falmouth University as a Learning Designer, enabling course teams and individual members of staff to design and redesign their courses for different modes of study, with a focus on innovative blended provision, using proven pedagogic approaches.
With a background in quality enhancement and educational technology, Vicki is a qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience of academic development in post compulsory education. For ten years Vicki lead eLearning development for a consortium of local colleges, pioneered mobile learning and undertook research in the application of mobile and contextual learning. As eLearning development officer for the University of Bath, Vicki lead on integrating video conferencing into the MBA programme to bring heads of industry into the lecture hall. At University of Exeter Vicki initiated a staff development programme to encourage active learning using the virtual learning environment. Particular areas of professional interest are playful approaches to learning using digital media, collaborative learning online and assessment design.
Outside of work, Vicki enjoys the odd music festival, messing about on the river and knitting (but is not very good at it).
