We are looking for submissions that showcase one or more of the three themes – Making, Community Building, Bridging The Gap and a Wildcard category. We are particularly interested in submissions that showcase technical innovations and the application of learning technology that propel creative art pedagogies in the postdigital era.

The voices of students and professional services colleagues are particularly welcomed, such as students as authors/co-authors of submissions.

We welcome contributions from across different educational settings including both HE and FE, also technical teaching and community projects.

Making

Creative art and design disciplines have, historically, been very hands on. Students are makers of their work, often with the support of their peers and staff. Advancing technologies have opened up new ways of making and assessing work that was not possible before.

This theme welcomes submissions to showcase ideas and projects about making using technologies. These could be examples of evolutions in art making or mega trends such as any kind of extended realities.

Community Building

What does a community look like when it is developed via the use of technologies? How do our students reimagine their art studio in online spaces? How do they continue to work with each other without needing to be physically present at all times.

This theme invites you to share with us your interpretation of “a community of students” in 2022 and beyond, specifically for creative art and design students.

Bridging The Gap

This theme looks for examples of good practices of how you (staff and students) have addressed digital inequality.  How have you and your students continued to be creative despite the technological barriers?  However small your achievement might be, we would love to hear from you.

If things have not worked out as you would have liked, but there is a lesson to be leant, we would like to hear from you too.

If you have any blue sky ideas on how to engage those who are normally excluded due to factors such as (dis)abilities, cultures, backgrounds and commitments outside of formal learning, this is the theme for you.

Wildcard

If you have a story to tell, a project to showcase, an idea to share but it doesn’t quite fit within any of the above themes, this is the place for you.
