The Creative Recovery Toolkit offers an intimate view into service users life-worlds through creative workshops. Completing the kit alongside traditional assessment/key-working techniques could help services to personalise recovery roadmaps and identify harmful personal networks, which in turn may help improve individual outcomes. This workshop activity also offers the potential to add therapeutic value to the existing recovery process and help clients build recovery capital. The process of completing the pack may allow individuals to explore barriers to recovery, especially for clients who struggle with verbal expression, language or writing experiences down.

Direct feedback from participants has suggested that this self-reporting creative style is much less intimidating, clinical and formal than other recovery workshop activities or assessments.
