Vivienne Wen Du is an artist who explores the parameters of space as transient, formless and in flux. She engages with the boundary lines that we traditionally use to delineate space and magnifies the ‘bleeds’, ‘blurs’ and ‘smudges’ which seemingly seek to permeate across those attempted borders and escape.

In her recent work, Vivienne has sought to capture a boundless ‘mirage-effect’ in conjunction with organic forms from the natural world. Nature; which often does deviate from defined constraints with wild abandon. Inspired by the shadows of foliage and plants from everyday life, their silhouettes have captivated her with their sway, blink and stutter… a reminder that the way in which we experience our surroundings is never finite but an atmosphere which is constantly moving.
