Project Lead: Kelvin Atmadibrata

Number of participants: 15

Duration: 3

Project Outline:
Who’s There? is a performance workshop that narratively, is inspired by the mythology of Narcissus and the perennial flower known by the same name. Based on the theme of self-portraits, participants will experience various introductory exercises in performance-making from movements, experimenting with materials and time-stretching durational practices. The workshop also invites participants to reflect on the self as their main instrument in devising performance and live art and it is designed to involve participants of various artistic backgrounds as well as a various degree of performative knowledge and experiences.

The three day workshops will conclude with one evening exhibition of the participants’ individual approaches to self-portraits accompanied by a “performance opera”, where all participants will present their performative gestures within the exhibition space. The final performance will be documented by both video and photographs that will be shared to each participant as potential studies towards future projects.
