Project Lead: Chris Mcginley

Number of participants:  20

Duration: 4 days

Project Outline:

The project will be split between the RCA and Wellcome. It will consist of lectures, presentations, engagements and co-design. There will be a mini-exhibition to mark the end of the project, and the results will be written up in an academic paper. The Heart n Soul team at The Hub, Wellcome, want to challenge perceptions and change attitudes in society. The project is jointly led by autistic people, people with learning disabilities and non-disabled people. In this 4-day project we will take an inclusive design approach to explore ‘the value of difference’ and address some of the challenges that face our neuro-diverse collaborators on a day to day basis. Using inclusive design approaches we will create design interventions and future propositions that question societal norms have the potential to improve lives, from day-to-day activities through to societal perspectives.
