Number of participants: 10

Duration: 1 day

Images and feedback from a SAKE workshop, MW 2017.

Project Outline:Consort’s SAKE provides an opportunity for cross-institution skills and knowledge
exchange among Royal College of Art, Royal College of Music and Imperial College
students.By means of informal, student-led workshops, demonstrations and discussions
Consort’s SAKE seeks to provide a space for innovation, catalysed by cross
disciplinary encounters. How do we manifest abstract concepts? What happens when rhythm meets animation or a fashion designer meets a tissue engineer? Please note that this day works equally well across disciplines within a single institution ie Animation meets Textiles meets Service Design. An equal mix of students from the RCA, RCM and Imperial cannot be guaranteed.SAKE workshops have been developed and are organised by Michelle Wild who is a
alumnus of the RCA. Michelle has worked with and supplied textiles to an
international list of clients including Eva Jiricna Architects UK, Jack Lenor Larsen
New York , Barneys Japan, Takashimaya New York and Neisha Crosland UK and
has taught at many of the UK’s leading creative institutions including the RCA.Please note – a short, meeting before the day of the workshops will be necessary to
discuss and collate skill sets and exchanges.
