Project Lead: Audrey Ma, Davin Browner Conaty and Ivan Romerro

Number of participants: 15

Duration: 3 days

Project Outline:

Inter – Action is a collaborative exploration between cognitive science researchers and designers.

A thought emerges, seeps beyond the skin and acts on the world. How does a conscious thought manifests itself into an action?

UCL Action & Body Lab researches sensory processes such as somatosensation, touch and thermosensation. The scale of this investigation of the conscious experience of controlling our movements means that there is real value for cognitive scientists to integrate designers into their research and experimentation. During our workshop, designers will be paired up with a team from the UCL Action & Body Lab to work together to find new insights or overcome obstacles in the lab’s ongoing research projects.
