Julia Schaeper is a design strategist and doctoral student specialising in the intersection of healthcare and design to improve individuals’ health outcomes. Her professional journey began 10 years ago when shebecame interested in using design to address bigger issues and develop services that make a real difference to people’s lives. As Service Design Lead in the NHS, she focused on the design of health and social care services that improve quality, patient experience, and efficiency. At Engine Service Design she developed user centred service strategies for private and public sector clients. In her current role as Head of Service Design at IC/Health, she helps healthcare organisations navigate the transition from an episodic model of care to disease prevention. Julia holds a MEDes from Glasgow School of Art, ENSCI Paris and Konstfack Stockholm.
