“Presenting my early stage research at the Emergent Culture conference provided a good opportunity to test its relevance in a context outside of design. The cross-disciplinary nature of my research – a combination of experimental design perspectives from Information Experience Design and social science perspectives from Education – can sometimes seem mismatched. The conference and ensuing conversations provided new clarity on how these fields can complement each other.
Delegates at the conference were very appreciative of the unique design-based approaches and embodied perspectives that I offered on the theme of emergent social change, and how it could be applied to research in the field of Sociology of Culture.”
