Lynda Lorraine is an Anglo-Filipina Artist living and working in London who primarily uses painting and drawing in her visual practice.
Her work predominantly focuses on the Philippine diaspora and their descendants, as well as observing works from life. And the pandemic brought about a different kind of practice due to social distancing and physical lockdowns – as it did for many. Adapting to the situation she joined a series of online portrait sittings hosted by the Sky Arts, Artist of the Year team. These Portrait Artist of the Week sessions took place on Facebook live on regular Sunday’s for the duration of the series. The hosts inviting you to sit along with hundreds of other artists throughout the globe to paint a celebrity sitter. All while a former Portrait Artist of the Year contestant painted them.

Later in 2020 she was lucky enough to be invited to take part in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year as one of the artist contestants to paint Katherine Grainger, the British Olympian Rower and current Chair of UK Sport.

She uses all the skills in her background in fashion design, fine art, photography and communications to enhance her visual practice as an Artist as well as utilising these skills as part of the media team within Technical Services at Royal College of Art.
