Project Outline:
Walking and sensing the landscape around us helps us engage with it and ourselves. How can we reflect on our own internal or individual experiences of a place for someone else to generate a shared understanding. That is what this session is about- learning skills and creating a dialogue through materials, people and landscape.
Timetable:
Day 1
AM: Introduction to the project and each other and the idea of walking and collecting sensory information and materials- what is sensorial information, how can we use it in our everyday lives. PM:Walk in Hyde Park gathering ideas and thinking about these in connection with the mornings session
Day 2
Meet at Euston Station in the morning. Visit to the Ashridge estate, collecting photographs, rubbings, drawing, objects etc. talking and walking and thinking about the land in terms of our relationship with, without and within it
Day 3
Start to put together and make forms/pieces in response to the trip to Ashridge
Day 4
Discussion and critique of the work we have created so far, thinking of presentation and how to make our creations and initial ideas an experience for others
Day 5
AM: Setting up the presentation of our work
PM: Exhibition
